What is included in a Trailer towing course?
As one of the leading trailer towing course providers in your area, you can be sure of quality training. We have a first time pass rate of around 89%, which is better than the national average. Your trailer course means you will benefit from a driving instructor who knows all about how to pass your driving test.
During our course you should learn how you can tow trailers safely. Once you pass your driving test, you can tow a trailer over 750kg and up to 3,500kg. As there is more weight, it is important to know how this affects your vehicle. On our trailer towing course, you can learn the following and more;
- How to safely uncouple and re-couple a trailer onto your tow vehicle.
- How to deal with a vehicle where the combined weight could be up to 7,500kg, depending on your tow vehicle.
- The importance of forward planning and making effective progress.
- You should learn about the safe handling of a trailer while cornering, accelerating and braking.
- An improved ability to reverse a trailer, whilst under full control and good observations.
If you wish to tow more than 7,500kg , then you would need to obtain a C1 or C driving licence. We have course to obtain these and then add C1+E and C+E. Ask one of our team all about what you can tow on your driving licence. Call 07818 408 336 or email the team. More on our C1 courses.

If you are looking to take your trailer towing course at the weekends, then we can accommodate this too. Tests can be booked at the weekend, but we usually work between 0800-1600 to accommodate this. At the weekend thought, there is an increased test fee from the DVSA. At the weekend the test fee is £141.00, instead of £115, which is the weekday fee. Our hourly rate increases by £5.00-10.00 per hour, depending on your course and requirements. This is to ensure we can get the correct standard of tuition to meet your needs.
Arranging training and tests at weekends can be problematic, as the DVSA only has limited tests at weekends. We can usually can arrange the training with a reasonable amount of notice, so just call one of the team. The team can accommodate all requests, as they are very flexible. We can also arrange training on a Sunday, but it is useful to give plenty of notice.
